We arrived at La Voz on boat from across Lake Atitlan, where three volcanic peaks molted together to form this haven in the sky.
"La Voz de que calma en el desierto".
"The voice that call out in the desert".
La Voz coffee has numerous certifications and is one of the oldest Organics on the market. The Fair Trade benefits have improved the town, the milling facility and a cupping lab has been established. At full city roast, the coffee gives a slight fruitiness or tartness into a cocoa center. A wonderful aroma deeply balanced in body and acidity. We have been importing La Voz for several years with repeated success.
About the farm:
La Voz is a cooperatively managed farmer group with roughly 200 members. The
associate farmers produce coffee on small plots of land (1-2 hectares each)
that are individually owned and maintained. Family members and cooperative
associates harvest the ripened coffee. Sacks of coffee cherries are manually
carried to the communal wet processing mill where La Voz's management oversees
pulping, fermentation, and patio drying. La Voz takes great price in its
ability to control quality and deliver its specialty coffee to North America
on a consistent and reliable basis.
